High-level overview of how Mutero Virtual Fiscal Devices (VFD) bridge sales applications, accounting software, and ZIMRA FDMS servers seamlessly.

Zero Local Dongle Requirement
Mutero VFD operates completely virtually in the cloud or via local lightweight agents. No physical ESD hardware box or dongle is required.

High-Level Data Flow

When an invoice or sales receipt is approved in your sales system (Zoho Books, POS, or Custom API), Mutero executes the following sequence:

1. IngestionNormalizes invoice line items & customer TIN data.
2. Tax MappingMaps external tax rates to ZIMRA Tax IDs & 8-digit HS Codes.
3. SigningGenerates ECDSA ZIMRA fiscal signature & QR code link.
4. WritebackPosts ZIMRA receipt number back to source invoice.

Security & Cryptographic Signatures

Mutero VFD maintains an encrypted Hardware Security Module (HSM) keystore for ZIMRA certificate enrollment and device signature generation:
